Crumbling Land

Show

Saturday, 14 July – 9pm

Performance of Puce Moment / France – Finland

Opera // Duration : 1h

This show translates the mystery of northern lights and gives a body and a voice to the solar winds.

Doris Marchant, member of the European Parliament representing major investors, is looking to confiscate a Sami land, a sacred territory … A natural Spirit makes an eye contact and it’s over for her … Petra Pittja, shaman connected to this vengeful Spirit, in a wish of reconciliation, gets Doris Marchant’ skin to craft a new magical drum… A present to the dispenser of life sun, absolute distributor of shadows and lights …

The screening of the solar winds that we see on the stage is displayed live by a sophisticated software, from the Geophysical Observatory basis of Sodankylä (Finland). So, each representation is unique and depends on the spatial weather.

The measured data in Sodankylä are broadcasted live on the stage and are converted in a visual and audio way. The solar winds’ movements become a hazardous and poetical component of the show, oscillating between an embodied character and a ghost.
